Fantastic ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV Results
23rd August 2018
ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV is celebrating another fantastic set of ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV results today, setting new records in the process.
12% of all grades achieved were the new highest grade 9 and a quarter of all grades were grades 8 & 9 (equivalent to the old A* level). 67% of all students gained a Grade 5 or more in both English and Maths, 7% up on last year, and early indications suggest further improvements in value-added progress for all children at every level.
With 26% of grades awarded gaining Grades 9-8, 75% Grades 9-5, and an impressive 42% gaining Grades 9-7, it is difficult to single out individual students. Deserving of a special mention is Amberley Evans, for holding a clean sweep of Grade 9s in all her subjects as well as an A* in Further Maths. We are also tremendously proud of Shreya Kc and Hora Behnejad who topped the value-added charts, achieving well above their individual target grades in every subject– a fantastic achievement.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV is also delighted in many outstanding individual results from students – William Ho (10 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and an A*D in Further Maths), Bethan Draycott (10 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and an A* in Further Maths), Dagmar Fredborg (10 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and an A* in Further Maths), Rebecca Hammersley (9 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and an A*D in Further Maths, Lucy Spouncer (9 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, an A* in D&T and A*D in Further Maths).
The school also recognises the performance of the following students who achieved 5 or more Grade 9s – Sophie Cieslik, Alexander Goulden, Hannah Neale, Isabelle Newenham, Rebecca Paoli, Patrick Raftery, Matthew Stephenson, Nathan Tidbury and Dominic Unwin.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV Headteacher Jack Mayhew welcomed the exam successes of County’s students: "Our warm congratulations to all students and to staff for their outstanding efforts in achieving these impressive ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV results. Staff and students have really excelled in response to the new curriculum and higher demands of these ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV courses. For the school to achieve our best ever results against the backdrop of the increased challenge is a real sign of the hard work of everybody at ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV. Knowing the inspiring breadth of many of our students’ achievements beyond the curriculum - in music, sport and charity work – this exam success is a true testament to their sheer energy and determination.’
The Farnham Road school, which has recently expanded its main school and has undergone significant investment in its buildings and premises, attracts an increasing number of students to its academic, vibrant and successful ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñAV and A level courses.
